Arachnid Cricket Pro 900 Review

Arachnid is one of the best known brands when it comes to electronic dart boards and produces some of the most feature-rich and well designed boars available today. 

The Cricket Pro 900 is their most feature rich design in the line, meaning you can be sure it will come with a ton of modes and options – even compared with models like the 800 and 650 – which are no slouches either!

In this review, we’ll take a closer look at the board and what it can do, to help you decide if it might be the right option for you.

The design of the Arachnid Cricket Pro 900 is the same as the design for the others in this line. It is a 15.5” target area (which is the standard), surrounded by a black case and with the readout and inputs down the bottom. 

A nice touch is that the board uses the tournament color scheme, which helps players to imagine themselves in a professional competition and adds an element of authenticity to any games room. It’s also more than suitable for a pub or gym.

The design has also taken a few other things into account. For instance, the board has been designed for superior durability thanks to the ‘NylonTough’ segments that won’t wear with time. They’re also incredibly thin (called micro-thin) in order to further reduce rebound. The holes are also square rather than round, which slightly increases the friction and thereby further helps to hold the darts in place. No more throwing your dart and then diving for cover!

Keep in mind that as an electronic dart board, this board is only suitable for use with soft tip darts. Make sure you remember that before you splash any cash on a new set of darts!

This could come in handy bearing in mind all the practice you’re going to be getting now! Meanwhile, single players will benefit from the many different game modes and also the option to track their average score per dart. There are no calculations here to do, but you’ll be able to easily see yourself improving over time by tracking a single metric. It’s highly encouraging and a real incentive to keep playing.

The board comes with some accessories, including 6 soft tip darts so you can start playing right away, with spare tips, and everything you need to mount and operate the board. 

The general quality of these dartboards is excellent and as mentioned, Arachnid are old hats when it comes to this business. You can rest assured you’ll be getting a well-made dart board that will last as a long time and perform just as it should.

A few customers have reported some QA (quality assurance) issues, with boards coming damaged, but the company should be quick to replace these.

Overall then, this is an excellent choice for darts enthusiasts and great value. It’s also perfect for pubs and for anyone who wants to get better at darts/have a fun game to play when guests come to visit. 

That said, as the main advantage that the 900 has over the 800 is the number of games and some of the voice features, you may want to check first that you need that extra functionality.
